Join us in following the teachings of St. Vincent de Paul.
Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederick Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul. The primary goal of the society is spiritual growth of the individual and community by living the example of Jesus, who sought out those disenfranchised by society. The work of the Society is focused at the parish conference.
St. Jerome’s Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul uses its food pantry as the base of operations, but strives to fill any need whether it is food, financial, social, emotional or spiritual.
Membership is open to anyone, regardless of religion, wishing to promote the cause and willing to accept the principles of the Society.
Conference meetings are held weekly on Thursdays at 7:00pm. We currently meet in the Pastoral Ministry Center on the North East corner of Desert Cove and 35th Ave. Desert Cove is the first street North of the parish.
Thanksgiving Food Drive
The St. Vincent de Paul Thanksgiving Food Drive in November is an annual drive to fill our pantry so that we may serve the needs of our friends in need.
We, the Vincentians, thank all of you on behalf of those help with our assistance. Thank you for the monetary gifts. Please know, we pray every week for all of our benefactors.
Voice of the Poor Updates:
Voice of the Poor (VOP) is the advocacy arm of SVdP. As followers of Christ, we are challenged to create conditions for marginalized voices to be heard, to defend the defenseless and to assess policies and social institutions in terms of their impact on the poor. All issues advocated by VOP members are always approved by the National and/or Diocesan Boards of SVDP and always supported by Catholic Social Teaching.
Fifth Sunday
On the fifth Sunday of the month, volunteers from SVdP will be outside after Masses collecting funds that will benefit those who are in need of food and shelter.
Bus Trips
Seniors’ Club sponsored bus trips to Casinos are arranged by Connie Polvino on a regular basis to help raise funds so that our SVdP Conference can help people in need. For more information, call (602) 938-3071.
