From Our Principal, Mr. Bravo:
Greetings St. Jerome Catholic School Falcons! My name is Javier Bravo and I am the new principal for St. Jerome Catholic School. I am excited to be a new member of the community and to work with faculty, staff, students, families, and parishioners to continue to form our students through the beauty of a Catholic Education.
First a bit about me. I am a native Arizonan. I was born in Yuma, Arizona and was raised in the Somerton/Yuma, Arizona area. I was in seminary studies for 6 1/2 years and I even had the wonderful opportunity to spend a year in monastic formation. All this has given me a deeper understanding of the mission of a Catholic School. I hold a BA in Spanish and Philosophy, an MA Ed in Curriculum and Instruction and an MA in Educational Leadership. I have been in Catholic education for 16 years. During that time I have taught Spanish, Religion, served in the Campus Ministry department, Guitar, World History, and most recently served as the former Assistant Principal for Academics at Bourgade Catholic High School.
I married Marisa my wife and we have a beautiful 9 year old daughter named Margaret Mary who is eager to join the cast of falcons. I look forward to meeting each of you and your families and working together to help our students discover that which is truth, goodness, and beauty in our world and in all of God’s creation. I am excited about leading our school to be that place where students encounter the living Christ through the liturgy and their studies as well as in their neighbors. Together let us help our students live out the mission of seeing God in all and responding with compassion and service.
May God bless you and your loved ones! Go Falcons! St. Jerome, Pray for us!
Mr.. Javier Bravo, MA Ed.
Principal
