As a way to welcome the newly baptized and their parents, we are thinking about adding their picture and including their names(parents/children) and date baptized. We would get their permission as we took the photo and gather their names and permission. I thought of this as we had babies baptized this last Saturday. I discussed the idea with Bonnie Sigler. I asked the opinion of the parents of one of the children that was baptized and they agreed to be the first ones by sending me a photo and information by e-mail.

We are thinking of developing an online parish directory much like the printed parish directory which is out of date and difficult to keep up to date. We thought it would contain a photo, names and ministries for each person/family. We would get permission from each person/family added. And we could change it at least weekly or daily if necessary to keep it up to date. I thought it would help us to know one another better and thereby build our community. As it stands now, I would have to get the photos/information/permission by myself it would take quite a while. It would be very helpful if parishioners would send me their photo/information/permission via e-mail.

I met Fred from our parish this weekend. He helped us restock our St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.
He told me about noticing homeless people gathered at Mountain View park. He decided he could help them by bringing food to them on a regular basis.

I wonder how many other stories we have of parishioners living out their Catholic Faith in simple but spectacular ways and inspiring us to do the same.

8/17 Received information from Kathy J on Voter Registration on 8/24. Updated Peace and Justice page and added graphics/link to Upcoming events in Right Column.

8/17 Received information from Deacon Jim on changes to Faith formation page and pages referred by
it. I tried to update the Spanish version of Faith Formation page(Officina de Formación en la Fé
Catolica). I hope I did it correctly.

8/17 Received text of Buildings and Property Committee activity from John Kornfeind and updated that page. Access: Home/Leadership/Development Council/Buildings and Property Committee page. He also sent Photos and that we put on the Facilities Changes page. Access: Home/Leadership/Facilities Changes
You might have to wait a few minutes for the movies to load.

Hope you will take the time to read about these additions/changes.

We are very lucky to have the volunteers on the Buildings and Property Committee to maintain and improve our parish facilities. Since we have their photos on the web, don't hesitate to give them a big "thank you" when you see them at church.

1. Added links to Parish Social Ministry Training to the Peace and Justice ministry page based on info from Kathy Jorgensen. If you want to go and need a Scholarship, the deadline for Scholarship submittal is April 11 but the Training is April 25-27 at the Franciscan Renewal Center.

2. Added link to Nothing But the Blood Movie in the left hand column; sent to me by Abla Najjar. It is great!

Good signs:
- Using the Contact Us feature of the web site, a young lady(who attends the 1pm Spanish Mass)volunteered to help with Teens! I put her in contact with our Youth Minister, Julie W( who has already contacted the young lady!

- Vickie C is arranging for photography coverage of the Eagle Scout Court of Honor on Friday the 18th and the Scout Mass scheduled for 9am on April 20th. When we get the photos we will get them on the web site.

-Search for SaintJerome.org in Yahoo reveals us in 1st position. Search for SaintJerome.org in Google reveals us in 3rd position which should improve soon since the old web site has been taken of the internet.

3/20/08:I was informed by e-mail from CommunitySpice.com that the web site can be accessed by typing saintjerome.org in your browser UR window. No http://www. required. So cool!

3/20/08 7:30am added Music and change name to Sermons & Music under the Liturgy Tab This will only happen on a regular basis if we can get audio recorded on CD at the Mass by the person that controls the audio during Mass. Also we'd need a volunteer to get the cd and transfer the audio to the web site on a weekly basis. Upload, and add to web site. 15-30 min per week. But of course we need approval of Mike Wieser and Priests/Deacons to publish their sermons.

To help with this project, we need feedback from you as to the value of having sermons and possibly Mass Music on this website so it could be downloaded to parishioners.

I have two different versions of the same file. One is .swf(Flash Player) and one is .mp3
I think you can put mp3 on your iPod or other mp3 player and or phone and swf might help some people who cannot get Windows Media Player to play but their Flash player will.
I believe mp3 should be good for most of you. It is the second from the top.
Any problems, please let me know.
Now the trick is to find some way to get all sermons recorded (I heard Mike Wieser has some new equipment that might do it)
and then uploaded to the web site. Very simple once you have the mp3 file on your computer!

Fr. Andres:

We continue to make improvements in the website:

1. We updated the calendar thru end of April
2. We got Holy week information and added it.
3. We worked with Deacon Jim and got together a Faith Formation Pages and he seems to like it.
4. We are trying to finish up the structure of the Ministries section and will then continue to work with each ministry as to the content and look of their pages.
5. And we will be getting with Mike Wieser on the Liturgy for improvements but all the basic information is there.

We at least have everything included in the new website that was in the old website.

The new website contains much more timely information.

I am preparing for a change to the look of the web site to be consistent with the switch from Lent to Holy week.
