ST. JEROME SEEKS "JEROME AWARD" NOMINATIONS

The St. Jerome Parish Advisory Council is seeking nominations for the 2008 Jerome
Award candidates.

The "Jerome Award" was initiated in 2007, and the awards were presented at the Parish Ministry Meeting in the Summer of 2007.  Parishioners are being asked to nominate worthy recipients from the St. Jerome community.  These nominations need to be directed to our Pastor, who, with Divine guidance, will make the selections

There are six categories in which a parishioner may be nominated, and they
are as follows:
  1. Non active - this parishioner who was once active in a ministry as a chair person, leader or former employee, but has decided to step back and enjoy the fruits of his/her labor.

  2. Employee - this is a current employee of St. Jerome Parish or School.

  3. Ministry Leader - this will be a leader that is responsible for the role he she plays in leading one of the many ministries.

  4. Volunteer - a parishioner who does volunteer work for the parish.

  5. Posthumous - a parishioner who at one time devoted much work or efforts to make our parish what it is today and has passed away.

  6. Consecrated - priest, deacon or nun who makes major contributions to the parish and its parishioners.
The nominations need to be sent to Fr. Andres and should be a statement of who this person is, what success they have contributed, length of time involved in the ministry or parish, and why should this person receive this award.  Nomination can be in a letter form and should not be more than two pages in length.  Nominations should be received by August 30, 2008.

The winners in 2007 were as follows:

        Non Active -   Elizabeth Jacobs
        Employee -   Rose Mischke
        Ministry Leader -  Rich Cada
Volunteer(s) -  Fred and Mary Ann Stanton
        Posthumous -   Robert Conroy
Consecrated -   Sr. Teresa Marie McIntier

Winners will be announced during the week of the St. Jerome Fall Festival.
